While Xclusive is an act that can certainly fit into the Small Venue category, this is also an act that is as big as life and twice as bold. A one-man variety hour, Kenneth "Xclusive" Paryo has taken his many talents from the screen of "America's Got Talent" to the stage of college campuses across the nation. Anyone who has seen this talent knows it is one of the most unique acts ever to grace the campus stage. "My show consists of piano, live music remixes, standup comedy and dance. There are three distinctive segments of music, comedy and dance, that my show is broken into. They all have something to do with each other, but everything is comedically based. My goal at the end of the day is to make sure my audiences have a great time, and one sure way to do that is to make sure they are laughing."
Like many natural performers, Ken has been at this a long time. "I started with piano, my parents had me taking classical lessons when I was 8, so I have been playing piano for almost 20 years now. When I was 13, I made the choice myself to start dancing," he says. "It wasn't until I got into the college market that I started doing standup comedy. That was about five years ago." Five years has gone by in the blink of an eye, and Ken is excited to be at such a significant road marker in his career. "Five years is a big milestone, and I am proud that I've made it."
"This is my first major award. When I got into the market, I never even considered the possibility of future awards for excellence. I am honestly honored and thankful and I know this is only just the beginning. I feel the sky is the limit now! I definitely did not feel entitled to this award and it took a lot of hard work, not to mention that I was nominated with some other great artists. It was certainly a validation to me. It took me by surprise, but when I saw the nomination, it felt like a confirmation that I have been headed in the right direction and has inspired me to redouble my efforts and become the best act in this market I can possibly be."
